- This is an indigo mud-dyed regular-collar shirt produced in a joint project with Kanai Kougei in Amami-Oshima.
The process involves repeating the indigo dyeing process 5-7 times, followed by 2~3 times of fixing using a chemical reaction in the mud to create a deep black overlaid on the indigo color, creating a unique color tone. Repeated wear will reveal the indigo color of the black undercoat through friction and ageing.
The use of high-density oxford fabric made of extra long cotton gives it a puffy texture feel. The wrinkling and the bite of the fabric deepens with repeated wear and washing, and can be enjoyed as a piece of clothing that you will grow to love.
