This warm chore coat is inspired by the traditional Japanese watairi.
【Material】
Indigo plain weave fabric is layered with soft indigo flannel fabrics of different colors. Flannel fabrics woven with yarn-dyed thread, fabric-dyed flannel fabrics, flannel with different brushed depths, thicknesses, etc. At first glance, indigo fabrics may look the same, but they all have different backgrounds and will age differently over time.
Various indigo fabrics, such as duck fabric woven with indigo thread and pin oxford with a fine weave, are layered on top of each other. The different aging effects of each fabric are expressed using a technique called dry stone.

chore coat is made of layers of various indigo fabrics and lined with polyester batting, reminiscent of the old watairi. Until just a short time ago, when winter approached, each household would re-stitch their regular kimonos by stuffing them with cotton to turn them into warm watairi to help them get through the cold. Most of these were made by hand by mothers, and this modern take on the watairi is a reflection of the gentle consideration shown to family members.

We started by making products that are hand-sewn and have a warm indigo color.
We create comfortable clothing that can be worn for many years, focusing on the traditional Japanese technique of honnai, and using colors and Material evoke the four seasons, all while remaining committed to "MADE IN JAPAN."
