- Baby Cash uses only carefully selected downy hair from white cashmere kids aged 6 to 8 months. Without this downy hair, the kids would freeze to death in winter, when temperatures can reach minus 30°C, so it is not possible to harvest it from kids born in the summer. The downy hair of kids born in late autumn that survive the harsh winter naturally falls out around May, when nomads harvest it by hand with scissors, resulting in poor production efficiency, with only about 40 grams of downy hair being obtained from each goat. The fibers are noticeably thinner than regular cashmere, at around 13 to 14 microns, and have a soft feel to the touch. They are also characterized by a transparent whiteness with almost no black hair mixed in.
