Product comment
- This is a Navajo pearl necklace made exclusively for HRM by Navajo female artist Ericka Nicolas Begay.
This is a special design that you won't find anywhere else, a mix of shiny Shiny and smoked OXI pearls. Navajo pearls are made by hollowing out a hemispherical silver plate and welding it together to create a single pearl.
They are called Hogan Beads, which means balls of energy, and are important items to the Navajo people. However, due to the labor-intensive process and the rising price of silver, the number of artists making them has decreased, and nowadays, even machine-made pearls strung on wire by Native USA can sell for a high price.
Because Navajo pearls have long been a staple of the Navajo people, we started making them in 2021 with the desire to have our customers pick up and wear them in the way that they were made. The cone part is firmly engraved with the ENB and HRM hallmarks. Her delicate, all-handmade jewelry, filled with her thoughts and attention to detail, has a warmth to it that is unforgettable once you pick it up.
