- BLUE
Product comment
- We picked up an apron, one of the standard items at HIGH! STANDARD, from PRISON BLUES.
The 14 oz. heavy denim fabric is double-needle stitch and tough. The exposed rivet on the pockets give off a rugged look, like double-knee work pants.
And yet, the waist part is simply adjustable by simply wrapping a string around it. This is a big Points, as USA aprons tend to be complicated to adjust. The pocket on the chest is divided into three compartments, making this a truly PRISON BLUES-like item that combines ruggedness with attention to detail.
PRISON BLUES
"PRISON BLUES" is produced by inmates in Pendleton, Oregon, USA. In 1989, the state's Department of Corrections established the company in a prison to give inmates the opportunity to acquire skills and rehabilitate themselves. All products are handmade by inmates, meaning they are made in the USA, and the quality is very good. Initially, they were only for inmates in the prison, but now they are also sold on the general market. It's a great system in which half of the sales are used for compensation to victims, and the rest is used for brand management costs and for inmates after release. It's because of this background that you can buy American-made products at this price. Not only are they produced, but the inmates also work as publicity models, so they are truly MADE ON THE INSIDE.
