- BLUCHER moccasins became popular in the 1950s and 1960s as a formal variation of the lace-up moccasins commonly used as boat shoes, with a more sophisticated, elongated silhouette reminiscent of the dress shoes that gave them their name.
The upper is made from Horween combination tanned cavalier leather. Cavalier leather is a supple "pull-up leather" like butter, created by double tanning of vegetable tanned leather and chrome tanned leather. Its suppleness makes the oily surface brighter when stretched, making it particularly suitable for making moccasins.
The sole uses Yuketen's original camp sole, which is made of 100% rubber mixed with cork chips, reminiscent of work boots in the 1960s.
